The Law of Attraction and Money: Why More Income Doesn’t Mean More Peace | The Anatomy of Lack Series

Marcus went from $2,500 a gig to $12,000 a gig in under two years — and the relief never came. In this episode, Tina Brinkley Potts breaks down what the Law of Attraction actually teaches about money: it’s not about the amount, it’s about the climate that amount lands in. If you’ve ever watched your income grow while your peace stayed flat, this episode names exactly why. Welcome to Happy, Healthy, Whole, and Rich, where faith meets

Speaker:

action and transformation is non-negotiable. I'm

Speaker:

Tina Brinkley Potts, and I believe now is the time to

Speaker:

step boldly into your power, walk in divine wisdom,

Speaker:

and claim the life you were meant to live. Each

Speaker:

episode, I'll bring you real, unfiltered

Speaker:

truth because this world needs leaders who

Speaker:

refuse to shrink. Let's get it.

Speaker:

Welcome back to Happy, Healthy, Whole, and Rich.

Speaker:

I'm Tina Brinkley Potts, and I want to remind you,

Speaker:

I know who I play for, and so do you.

Speaker:

We've spent the last several days with Marcus. We

Speaker:

looked at how he handles his team through the Law of Divine

Speaker:

Oneness. We've looked at the belief underneath the

Speaker:

pattern Through the Law of Vibration. We

Speaker:

watched the same beliefs show up in more than one room

Speaker:

of his life through the Law of Correspondence. And on

Speaker:

day 5, we took the full anatomy

Speaker:

of him and laid it all out

Speaker:

at once. I told you on day 5 that

Speaker:

Marcus's numbers had grown. I want to sit

Speaker:

inside those numbers today. Because I don't think I gave

Speaker:

them their full weight yet, and today's law

Speaker:

is the one that finally explains why growth

Speaker:

on paper hasn't translated into relief

Speaker:

in real life. Today's law is the Law of

Speaker:

Attraction, and I want to warn you before we start.

Speaker:

If you've only ever heard this law taught as

Speaker:

Think positive and get a check? Today is gonna

Speaker:

complicate that for you. Good, it

Speaker:

should. When Marcus first came to me,

Speaker:

he was getting somewhere between $2,500 and

Speaker:

$3,000 a gig. That was the number.

Speaker:

I remember it clearly because I remember doing the

Speaker:

math with him on that very first call, the way I do

Speaker:

with every client before we do anything else together.

Speaker:

I don't start with strategy. I start with a question

Speaker:

I ask everyone in that first conversation.

Speaker:

What do you need so that money can actually be

Speaker:

fun for you? Not fun as frivolous.

Speaker:

Fun as in the tension is gone. So I break

Speaker:

it into pieces. First, the number that

Speaker:

makes the bills stop being a monthly fire drill.

Speaker:

Rent, the van payment, the team, the basics paid

Speaker:

consistently without the stress of wondering if

Speaker:

this month is the month something bounces.

Speaker:

Second, I ask about anything sitting on the

Speaker:

horizon that isn't a want but a real

Speaker:

structural need. A baby coming, no room for

Speaker:

the crib, a parent who's about to need care,

Speaker:

anything life is about to hand you whether you're ready or not.

Speaker:

And third, I asked the question that tends to get

Speaker:

the longest pause. What's the number that

Speaker:

if you hit it this year would make you sit back

Speaker:

and feel like you made it? Not somebody else's

Speaker:

version of that, yours. With

Speaker:

Marcus, on that first phone call, we did the math

Speaker:

together. How many shows a month it would take

Speaker:

at $2,500 to $3,000

Speaker:

a gig to clear that first number, the

Speaker:

stress-free baseline, before we ever

Speaker:

talked about the made-it number sitting above it.

Speaker:

Today, less than 2 years later, Marcus is

Speaker:

averaging around $12,000 a gig, and it's not

Speaker:

plateauing. It's still climbing. His touring

Speaker:

revenue has gone from under $100,000 a year

Speaker:

to roughly $450,000 a year

Speaker:

and climbing. If you had shown me those 2 numbers

Speaker:

side by side 3 years ago and asked me to

Speaker:

guess what Marcus's life looked like now, I

Speaker:

would have guessed relief. I would have guessed margin.

Speaker:

I would have guessed a man who Who finally excels.

Speaker:

That's not what I've watched happen.

Speaker:

Here's what I've seen happen. Every single

Speaker:

time a new gig comes in, a bigger one, a better

Speaker:

one, sometimes literally the best offer he's

Speaker:

ever gotten, something else arrives

Speaker:

alongside it. An unexpected bill, a

Speaker:

piece of equipment that suddenly needs replacing.

Speaker:

A tax number he didn't plan for. A family

Speaker:

obligation that lands at exactly the wrong moment.

Speaker:

A friend or cousin who just needs a little help the

Speaker:

same week the deposit clears. And I want to be

Speaker:

precise about what I'm describing because it matters.

Speaker:

This is not Marcus being irresponsible with money.

Speaker:

This is not him blowing a check. on something frivolous.

Speaker:

It is something quieter, and honestly,

Speaker:

something a little eerier than that. It is money

Speaker:

arriving and an equal and opposite need

Speaker:

arriving to meet it, almost on schedule.

Speaker:

I sat with him after a booking that should have been a turning

Speaker:

point. A fee more than 4

Speaker:

times what he's used to making for a single night.

Speaker:

An amount that 2 years ago would have felt like winning

Speaker:

something. And when I asked him how it felt,

Speaker:

he didn't feel relieved. He said, almost

Speaker:

embarrassed to admit it, it's weird, Tina. It

Speaker:

never feels like enough. I keep waiting to feel like I

Speaker:

caught up, and I never catch up.

Speaker:

$12,000 a gig. And the sentence coming

Speaker:

out of his mouth was the same sentence a man

Speaker:

makes $1,500 a month The

Speaker:

dollar amount just multiplied. The internal

Speaker:

experience hasn't moved an inch.

Speaker:

I want you to really sit with that gap because that gap

Speaker:

is the whole lesson today. If lack were only

Speaker:

about volume, about how much money is coming in,

Speaker:

Marcus should be one of the most at-peace clients

Speaker:

right now. The volume has quadrupled,

Speaker:

but volume was never the thing that was broken.

Speaker:

What's broken sits underneath the volume, and

Speaker:

until that gets addressed, the volume can keep

Speaker:

climbing for another 5 years, and the feeling in

Speaker:

Marcus's chest when the money lands will stay

Speaker:

exactly the same. Think about what that

Speaker:

means about the Law of Attraction. Marcus has,

Speaker:

in a very real sense, been attracting more money.

Speaker:

The evidence is right there in his bank statements. But he has

Speaker:

also, at the same exact rate, been

Speaker:

attracting the exact conditions that makes the money

Speaker:

disappear before it can do what money is supposed

to do:

build margin, build peace,

to do:

and build a floor underneath him that doesn't move.

to do:

He is not failing to attract abundance. He is

to do:

succeeding at attracting a very

to do:

specific, very consistent pattern:

to do:

money and an equally sized leak

to do:

arriving together every time, like they're

to do:

tied to the same rope. I went

to do:

back through 18 months of conversations after that call.

to do:

Because I wanted to know if I was imagining the

to do:

pattern or if it was really as consistent as it felt.

to do:

It was consistent. I could line it up almost like a

to do:

ledger. The month his average

to do:

jumped from $4,000 to $6,000, his van

to do:

transmission went out, a repair he hadn't budgeted

to do:

for on a vehicle he had been meaning to service for

to do:

months, but kept putting it off because the money

to do:

wasn't quite there yet to do it proactively. The

to do:

month he crossed $8,000 a gig, a family member

to do:

he'd quietly been supporting needed more support than

to do:

usual, and he said yes before he'd

to do:

even let the deposit clear in his own mind. The

to do:

month the big offer came in, the one that took him past

to do:

$10,000 a gig for the first time, Was the

to do:

same month he told me, almost in passing, that

to do:

he probably needed to see a doctor about something

to do:

he'd been ignoring for a while because he hadn't had the money

to do:

to deal with it before. Now suddenly he had the

to do:

money, and suddenly there was a body that had

to do:

apparently been waiting for permission to need attention.

to do:

I'm not telling you this to suggest Marcus is manufacturing

to do:

these events on purpose. He isn't. Nobody

to do:

consciously decides to blow a transmission or

to do:

develop a symptom. That's exactly what makes this law

to do:

so important to understand correctly.

to do:

Attraction doesn't require conscious participation.

to do:

It requires a consistent frequency, and it will

to do:

find whatever avenue is available to match

to do:

that frequency, whether that avenue is a relative with

to do:

a request, A vehicle with a part that finally

to do:

gives out, or a body that has been quietly

to do:

under-resourced right alongside the bank account.

to do:

The specific event changes. The rope stays

to do:

exactly the same length every time. I

to do:

asked Marcus one more question that day, and I want you to sit

to do:

with his answer before we move to the next law. I

to do:

asked him, if a bigger check landed in your

to do:

account tomorrow with absolutely nothing attached to

to do:

it— no bill, no favor, no

to do:

emergency— what would you do with it?

to do:

He got quiet for a second, and then he said,

to do:

honestly, I don't know. I don't think I ever had

to do:

that happen. That answer is the whole episode.

to do:

Not, I'd save it, or I'd invest it,

to do:

or even I'd spend it foolishly. He genuinely

to do:

could not picture the scenario because in his

to do:

lived experience, it had never once

to do:

occurred. Money without an attached leak

to do:

wasn't a decision he never made. It was a

to do:

circumstance he'd never been given the chance to face.

to do:

Turn with me to Haggai

to do:

1:6. Ye have sown much,

to do:

and bring in little: ye eat, but ye have not

to do:

enough; ye drink, and ye are not filled

to do:

with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm.

to do:

And he that earneth wages earneth wages

to do:

to put it in a bag with holes. I want you to

to do:

notice something about that verse because it is

to do:

describing Marcus's exact situation

to do:

almost word for word, thousands of years

to do:

before Marcus was born. It doesn't say the people

to do:

weren't earning. It doesn't say the harvest failed or the

to do:

wages stopped coming. It says they sowed much.

to do:

It says wages were earned. The inflow was real. The

to do:

verse isn't describing a drought of money.

to do:

It's describing a bag with holes, an inflow

to do:

that cannot be felt as provision because

to do:

it is leaking out as fast as or faster

to do:

than it comes in. That is not a

to do:

coincidence of language. That is the law of

to do:

attraction being described honestly. Without the

to do:

cartoon version attached to it. The people in Haggai

to do:

weren't being punished by having money withheld.

to do:

They were experiencing the natural consequence of

to do:

misaligned priority. The text goes on to

to do:

say they were busy building their own houses while leaving

to do:

something sacred unattended. The money kept

to do:

showing up. The bag kept having holes.

to do:

Both were true at once, and one did not

to do:

cancel the other out. I also want to bring in

:

11. Wealth gotten by

:

vanity shall be diminished, but he that gathereth

:

by labor shall increase. I want to be careful

:

with this verse because Marcus's labor is real.

:

Nobody is questioning whether he works hard for that stage

:

money. But I want you to think about the word

:

diminished less as taken away and

:

more as unable to accumulate. Wealth

:

that is attracted from a place that isn't aligned

:

doesn't have to be dramatically taken from you to be

:

diminished. It can simply refuse to compound.

:

It can arrive and leave and arrive and

:

leave at a rate That keeps the number in the bank

:

account from ever building something that outlasts the

:

next gig. Let's talk about what the Law of

:

Attraction actually teaches, because this is the law

:

that most people have been sold the smallest,

:

shiniest version of, and Marcus's story is a

:

perfect example of why the small version doesn't hold

:

up. The popular teaching says this: Think about

:

money, feel good about money, and money appears. And

:

on the surface, Marcus looks like proof that that works.

:

He thought bigger, he pursued bigger bookings, and

:

bigger numbers appeared. But the Law of Attraction was

:

never actually about attracting a number. It's

:

about attracting a vibrational match, and a

:

number by itself has no vibration.

:

The belief underneath the number does.

:

$12,000 attracted through a belief of, I still don't

:

fully trust that this is mine to keep, will behave

:

completely different than $12,000 attracted

:

through a belief of, I am a person who is stewarded well

:

and who stewards well. Same number. 2

:

entirely different fields for that number to land on.

:

Here's the mechanism plainly.

:

Marcus's core belief, the one we've been

:

circling since day one, is some version of,

:

what I already have isn't enough and what's coming

:

in isn't fully secure. We saw that belief

:

show up as under-resourcing his loyal

:

team while chasing dancers. We saw it show up

:

as controlling behavior at home. And now on day

:

6, we're watching the exact same belief show

:

up as his relationship to money itself. The

:

Law of Attraction doesn't just match you with an amount.

:

It matches you with an entire climate. And if the

:

climate is not enough, not secure, not

:

mine to keep, then attraction will faithfully deliver

:

you larger and larger sums of money until That

:

exact climate. The money grows.

:

The holes in the bag grow to match it because the holes were

:

never about the amount. They were about the belief the

:

amount is landing in. This is why so many people

:

watch their income increase and their peace stay completely

:

flat, and they cannot understand why. They assume

:

the next number will finally be the one that fixes the

:

feeling. $12,000 a gig will feel like enough

:

once it's $15,000. $15,000 will feel like it's enough once

:

it's $20,000. I have watched this exact ladder in

:

other clients who never stopped climbing it because they

:

keep treating the ceiling as a math problem instead

:

of a belief problem. The ceiling was never made of dollars.

:

It was made of the ceiling Marcus carries about himself.

:

About how much ease he actually believes he's

:

allowed to hold on to at once.

:

And here's the part I need you to really hear, because it's the

:

empowering flip side of everything I just said.

:

The Law of Attraction is not broken for Marcus.

:

It's working perfectly. It has been faithfully,

:

precisely matching him with the exact climate

:

his belief has been broadcasting this entire time.

:

That means the fix would never attract more. Marcus

:

has already proven he can attract more.

:

$450,000 a year and rising is

:

proof of that. The fix is attract from

:

a repaired belief because the same law that has been

:

faithfully manufacturing the leak is the same law

:

that will faithfully manufacture the margin. The

:

moment the underlying climate shifts from

:

scarcity dressed as ambition to genuine

:

settled trust that what's

:

already his is allowed to stay his. This is

:

exactly the kind of shift I walk people through

:

inside my GLOW community. Not chasing a bigger number,

:

but repairing the climate the number lands in.

:

So the increase finally has somewhere to stay

:

instead of somewhere to leak. Now, I want

:

you to sit with a pen in your hand for this part.

:

Don't just listen, write. Number 1,

:

where in my life has the amount coming in

:

increased while the feeling of enough has stayed

:

exactly the same? And what does that gap tell me

:

about what I'm actually attracting? Number 2,

:

6 describes wages earned

:

to put into a bag with holes. Where's my own

:

bag leaking right now, and have I been treating

:

the leak as bad luck instead of a pattern?

:

Number 3, what is the belief I'm currently

:

attracting money into? If I'm honest, is it a

:

belief of This is mine to keep and steward,

:

or this could disappear at any moment, so brace for it.

:

Number 4, if my income doubled again next year

:

and nothing about my internal belief changed,

:

what would I predict would happen to that feeling of relief I'm

:

chasing?

:

5, what would it look like this week To treat

:

one piece of money, even a small one, as

:

fully mine to keep instead of embracing for the

:

bill that always seems to show up right on time,

:

right until something uncomfortable shows up. That

:

discomfort is usually where the real work is.

:

Here's what I want to leave you with today. More money

:

was never going to be the finish line. Because more money

:

was never actually the thing you were missing. What you've been

:

missing is a climate that can hold what you

:

attract instead of leaking it back out as

:

fast as it lands. The Law of Attraction has not failed

:

you. It has been faithfully giving you exactly

:

what your belief has been asking for, dollar for

:

dollar, whole for whole. That means you are not

:

stuck waiting for the next number to finally

:

feel like enough. You can start today

:

and whatever number you are at right now by repairing

:

the belief the money is landing in. Do that

:

and watch what happens the next time the increase

:

comes, because for the first time, it will have

:

somewhere to stay. Stay happy, stay

:

healthy, stay whole, and stay rich

:

in understanding that this is all you, so it's

:

time to do right by you. If this

:

episode is stirring something in you, do me a

:

favor, share it with someone. Let's help someone

:

rewrite the pact they've unconsciously made with lack.

:

I'll see you tomorrow. Same time, same

If this message spoke to you, don't keep it to yourself.
