Why You’re Still Stuck | Wealth Consciousness & Standing in Your Power

If you’ve been studying personal development, Law of Attraction, or spiritual principles and still feel like something is blocking you — this episode is where the work begins.

In this opening episode of the Standing in Your Power series, Tina Brinkley Potts breaks down the most common misconception about personal power: that it means nothing ever goes wrong. The truth is harder and more liberating than that. Real power begins the moment you stop organizing your life around what was done to you and start taking ownership of what happens next.

Through a powerful coaching story, Proverbs 4:23, and the metaphysical teachings of Ernest Holmes, Neville Goddard, and James Allen, Tina builds the foundation for this entire series — and gives you the journaling practice to start locating your power today.

If you’ve ever felt stuck because of someone else’s choices, this episode will shift something.

What you’ll gain:

  • The real definition of standing in your power
  • Why victimhood can feel like clarity — and how to tell the difference
  • A journaling practice to identify where you’ve handed your power away

Welcome to Happy, Healthy, Whole, and Rich, where faith meets

Speaker:

action and transformation is non-negotiable. I'm

Speaker:

Tina Brinkley Potts, and I believe now is the time to

Speaker:

step boldly into your power, walk in divine

Speaker:

wisdom, and claim the life you were meant to live.

Speaker:

Each episode, I'll bring you real, unfiltered

Speaker:

truth because this world needs leaders who

Speaker:

refuse to shrink. Let's get it.

Speaker:

Welcome to Happy, Healthy, Whole, and Rich. I'm Tina Brinkley

Speaker:

Potts, and I know who I play for.

Speaker:

Today we are starting something, a

Speaker:

7-part series called Standing in Your Power,

Speaker:

and I want to begin right here by telling you what

Speaker:

this series is not about. It's not about pretending

Speaker:

life is perfect. Or that

Speaker:

toxic positivity or acting like hard things

Speaker:

don't happen. It's not about being unbothered in

Speaker:

a way that isn't real. This series is about

Speaker:

something deeper than that, something more

Speaker:

honest than that. And today I want to start with the

Speaker:

foundation— what standing in your power actually

Speaker:

means— because most people have it wrong.

Speaker:

Let's go to Proverbs 4:23.

Speaker:

Above all else, guard your heart, for

Speaker:

everything you do flows from it. Above all else.

Speaker:

Not above some things, not when it's convenient.

Speaker:

Above all else. Now, I used to read

Speaker:

that verse and think it was about protecting myself from

Speaker:

other people. From their negativity, their

Speaker:

intentions, their energy. But the

Speaker:

older I get, the more I understand that the heart

Speaker:

this verse is talking about isn't just something that

Speaker:

receives. It's something that generates.

Speaker:

Everything you do flows from it. Your

Speaker:

decisions flow from it. Your relationships

Speaker:

flow from it. Your business flows from it.

Speaker:

Your responses to disappointment and betrayal,

Speaker:

delay and loss— all of it flows

Speaker:

from what's living in your heart. So

Speaker:

guarding your heart isn't just about keeping bad things

Speaker:

out. It's about being intentional about what

Speaker:

you're generating from the inside. Because what's

Speaker:

inside you is always producing something.

Speaker:

That's standing in your power, and it starts

Speaker:

there inside. I want

Speaker:

to tell you about a conversation I had that I will

Speaker:

never forget. I was working with a client,

Speaker:

a brilliant woman. She had a big vision, real

Speaker:

talent, and every single session

Speaker:

We would start making progress, and then somewhere in the

Speaker:

middle of it, the conversation would shift.

Speaker:

To her mother, to her ex, to the

Speaker:

employer who passed her over, to the friend

Speaker:

who betrayed her confidence, to the industry

Speaker:

that didn't see her coming. And she could tell

Speaker:

every one of those stories with precision.

Speaker:

Dates, details, exactly what was said and who

Speaker:

said it. She had the receipts going back

Speaker:

years. And I sat with her one day and I

Speaker:

said something that I knew might land

Speaker:

hard. I said, you are the most

Speaker:

articulate person about everything that has happened

Speaker:

to you that I have ever met. And as long as

Speaker:

all of that is true, none of it is ever going to

Speaker:

change. She got quiet.

Speaker:

I wasn't dismissing what she had been through.

Speaker:

I want to be clear about that. The things that

Speaker:

happened to her were very real. The pain

Speaker:

was real. The people who let her down, they let

Speaker:

her down. That part wasn't a story.

Speaker:

But here's the part I wanted her to see.

Speaker:

She had built an entire identity around being

Speaker:

someone things happened to, and that

Speaker:

identity, as painful as it was, had

Speaker:

become comfortable. Because as long as someone

Speaker:

else was responsible for where she was, She

Speaker:

didn't have to be responsible for where she was going.

Speaker:

That's the trap, and it is one of the most

Speaker:

loving-looking traps there is

Speaker:

because it always comes wrapped in truth. Something

Speaker:

real did happen. Someone really did wrong you.

Speaker:

The circumstance really was unfair.

Speaker:

But you cannot stand in your power from inside that

Speaker:

story. You just can't.

Speaker:

Power is not absence of hard things. Power is

Speaker:

what you do with your agency after the hard thing

Speaker:

happens. When Solomon wrote,

Speaker:

guard your heart, for everything flows from it, I

Speaker:

believe he was warning us about exactly this.

Speaker:

Because here's what happens When we don't guard our heart,

Speaker:

we let the narrative of what happened to us move in

Speaker:

and take up permanent residence. We water it,

Speaker:

we tend it, we tell it to everyone who will

Speaker:

listen until it becomes the lens through which we see

Speaker:

everything new. A new opportunity

Speaker:

looks like a setup from another disappointment. A

Speaker:

new relationship looks like someone who will eventually leave.

Speaker:

A new season looks like something that will probably be

Speaker:

taken away. That is not discernment.

Speaker:

That is a heart that hasn't been guarded. That is

Speaker:

yesterday's pain writing today's story.

Speaker:

Standing in your power begins with the decision to

Speaker:

evict the narratives that are generating outcomes

Speaker:

you don't want. Not to deny that they happened,

Speaker:

but to stop letting them author your next

Speaker:

chapter. Ernest Holmes

Speaker:

taught that the subjective mind, what we might call

Speaker:

the subconscious, has no ability to

Speaker:

reject what you give it. It simply

Speaker:

accepts and builds. It is,

Speaker:

as he described it, an obedient servant that works with

Speaker:

whatever material you hand it. So when

Speaker:

you hand it a story about everything that has been done to you,

Speaker:

it builds a life that matches that story.

Speaker:

Not to punish you, not because you deserve it,

Speaker:

but because that is the law. It produces what you

Speaker:

plant. Neville Goddard said, you

Speaker:

are already that which you want to be, and your

Speaker:

refusal to believe this is the only reason you do

Speaker:

not see it. Let's read that again

Speaker:

slowly. Your refusal to

Speaker:

believe it is the only reason you don't see it.

Speaker:

Not the person who hurt you, not the system

Speaker:

that was unfair, or that the timing was off.

Speaker:

Your belief, your concept of

Speaker:

yourself, that is the operating variable.

Speaker:

Now, I know that might feel like a lot of weight to

Speaker:

carry, but I want you to flip it.

Speaker:

Because if your belief is the variable, then your

Speaker:

belief is also the lever. And the lever is

Speaker:

not a burden. The lever is power.

Speaker:

James Allen wrote in As a Man Thinketh,

Speaker:

circumstance does not make the man.

Speaker:

It reveals him to himself. Whatever

Speaker:

has happened to you is revealing something.

Speaker:

The question standing in your power to ask is,

Speaker:

what do you want it to reveal from here? What do you

Speaker:

want to be made visible about who you are

Speaker:

and how you respond, how you rise, how you

Speaker:

refuse to be defined by what Tried to

Speaker:

define you. That is the metaphysics of

Speaker:

power. It was never about what happened to you.

Speaker:

It was always about what you do with the creative

Speaker:

authority you still have in this moment.

Speaker:

I want you to get honest with yourself right now. Not

Speaker:

harsh, not critical, just honest.

Speaker:

Think about the area of your life where you feel the most

Speaker:

stuck, the thing that hasn't moved the way you

Speaker:

wanted it to, the situation that feels unresolved.

Speaker:

Now ask yourself this first question:

Speaker:

who or what do I blame for this? Write it

Speaker:

down. Don't filter it, just let it come out.

Speaker:

The person, the circumstance, the system, the timing—

Speaker:

get it all on paper. Now the second question:

Speaker:

What has holding that story cost me?

Speaker:

Not what they did. What holding on to it has

Speaker:

cost you in time, in energy,

Speaker:

in opportunities you might have missed while you were looking

Speaker:

backward. Be specific.

Speaker:

Third, what would I have to believe about myself to move

Speaker:

forward from here without needing them to be different

Speaker:

first? This is the real one, because

Speaker:

standing in your power almost always

Speaker:

requires that you stop waiting for someone else

Speaker:

to change, apologize, or be held

Speaker:

accountable before you give yourself permission to move.

Speaker:

Fourth, what is one thing Just one

Speaker:

that is fully within my control

Speaker:

right now. Not their behavior, not the

Speaker:

economy, not what already happened. What is yours

Speaker:

to do right now? And finally,

Speaker:

if I operated as someone who was not defined

Speaker:

by what happened to me, what would my next move be?

Speaker:

Write that answer down. And then consider making it

Speaker:

your first move this week. Here's what

Speaker:

I want to leave you with today. Standing in your

Speaker:

power is not a destination. It is a

Speaker:

daily decision, and it starts with the most

Speaker:

courageous thing a human being can do,

Speaker:

which is to look at your own life and say, I

Speaker:

am responsible for what Happens next.

Speaker:

Not because everything was my fault, but because I

Speaker:

refuse to outsource my future to

Speaker:

my past. Something may have happened to you.

Speaker:

Maybe a lot of things happened to you. I am not here to

Speaker:

minimize any of it, but I am here

Speaker:

to tell you that you were built for more than

Speaker:

a life organized around what was done to you. You

Speaker:

have creative authority. You have agency.

Speaker:

You have the same power that Solomon was talking about

Speaker:

when he said everything flows from your heart.

Speaker:

Guard it. Tend it. Be intentional

Speaker:

about what you are generating from the inside, because

Speaker:

that is where your power lives. This is

Speaker:

just the beginning. Over the next 6 episodes,

Speaker:

we're going to go deeper into the tools, the

Speaker:

phrases, the practices, and the identity

Speaker:

work that makes standing in your power not just a

Speaker:

concept, but a way of living. I'm glad you're here,

Speaker:

and I know who I play for. Until the next

Speaker:

time, be happy, be healthy,

Speaker:

be whole. And most importantly, be

Speaker:

rich in love, rich in peace, and rich in

Speaker:

purpose. If this message spoke to you,

Speaker:

don't keep it to yourself. Share it, live it, and
